The company is awaiting approval from regulators around the world for emergency approval. Dr. Gilli Regev, CEO and Co-founder of Sanotize, says that we are looking for partners in India and hope that this spray will be approved as a medical device in India. He has started talks with some big pharmaceutical companies in India but at this time company has not contacted the government or the regulator.
What happened in the Phase-2 trial?
Nitric oxide nasal spray has been developed by SaNOtize, a biotech company based in Vancouver, Canada and in this, St Peters Hospitals, NHS Foundation Trust and Berkshire Pathology Services of UK have associated. Dr. Gilli Regev, CEO of SaNOtize claims that nitric oxide can kill any type of virus. This spray sends a small amount of nitric oxide into the nose, which helps in killing the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

After the World Health Organization (WHO) recommending, the government agencies of the countries approve the use of the emergency use authorization of the spray. According to Dr. Regev, Israel and Bahrain have approved the use of this spray as a medical device.Dr Winchester says that the spray makers have sought permission to use emergency in the Britain as well and a plan to test its 3rd phase is also being planned.
Whether there is a need for a 3rd stage trial or not, this regulator has to decide. According to him spray makers are also discussing with some pharmaceutical companies in India. Sanotize wants to do Phase-3 trials with 4-5 thousand people. According to Regev, some part of Phase-3 trials may also occur in India. They are looking for funding for this. As soon as funding is available, the company will be able to go ahead and conduct trials in India as well.
